Today, Windsor Castle.  Edward Laney prepared us for our visit with an oral report yesterday, but he did not prepare us for the lengthy queue awaiting us when we got off the train. John C. kindly offered to take a photo with me in the picture, as you can see to the left.  The "Director" hat was a gift from a cast, but I thought it was perfect for this trip.  Once inside the castle, the group split up, but I happened upon the group below finishing lunch just outside the quad:
Later another group posed with a stoic and very patient palace guard.  The uniform recalls an earlier era.  The machine gun he carries reminds us that the earlier era is over:
Later a larger group showed up and wanted to pose, too.  Forget the sumptuous state apartments, the glorious Chapel of St. George, and the pristine castle grounds.  What the Woodberry students wanted to do was to pose with a Beefeater.
